- Fibre cushions are popular either as a straight replacement for a worn out fibre original or as a cheaper ,easier care and hypoallergenic, alternative to feather. They are light weight, look rounded and luxurious, and give good support. They do need regular plumping to keep them at their best, though.
- Fibre back cushions can be teamed with foam seat cushions for the best of both worlds ( as pictured above) The reliable support and durability of foam to sit on with soft fluffy fibre to lean back against. Fibre cushions are made like feather cushions, the loose filling is packed into (non woven F.R. Polyester) fabric cases with channels in ( like a super thick duvet)
- Feather and Fibre Mix is lovely, too, like feather with more “oomph” and less plumping.Feels soft and cuddly, but springs back into shape much better than feather alone. The feather and fibre are hand mixed, then packed into fabric cases, as above, but this time the fabric must be coated cotton cambric, to help prevent the feathers from escaping. The feathers are less likely to come out than from a pure feather cushion, the fibre mix helps hold them in place.
- Pure duck feather ( not shown) we can get you pure feather cushions, but, personally, don’t recommend them for seat cushions, they are very heavy and need constant plumping, and don’t give very good support. Fine for back cushions and scatter pads, though.
